I'm Going to Be on Television
Snap! I just got a call from KVPT, the local PBS affiliate, asking me if I was going to be at tomorrow's reception for Words in Motion, a special on Fresno writers that KVPT's airing Thursday, August 11, at 8:30 p.m. I came in to read for
the program on the 19th of July, the day before I took off on the
Pacific Northwest Museum Tour, and I was a little freaked out, but Bob T., the producer, was so cool that I managed to get through it without having either a panic attack or a stroke.
Now, I figured that they were hunting high and low for Fresno
writers if they had somehow managed to track me down, me with my one
little book that barely sold before it stopped selling at all, that
they were going to feature dozens and dozens of writers, but, just
by going by the number of bios,
it seems that there are only going to be fifteen writers on the program (when I saw my
bio at the top of the list, I felt pretty cool until I realized that we
were listed alphabetically). Fifteen, and I made the cut. Sweet. I
didn't, however, make the preview video. Now I'm worried that I also didn't
make the final cut. I see the entire program tomorrow; if I don't have to slit my wrists out of embarrassment, I'll let you
know.
